To Whom It may Concern:
We members of Imperial Chicks, a Star Wars fan site for the misunderstood men and women who serve the Galactic Empire, respectfully request that a proper first name
be given for the character of Admiral Motti, hopefully in time for Celebration IV.
After serious research and deliberation, our crack team of researchers came up with two names: Romodi and Quintus. The former came from the Answers.com site,
although the official Motti bio on starwars.com remains silent on the subject. The latter was an Imperial Chicks choice, named after an ancient Roman general who was known to be involved
in several Imperial court intrigues; one of which involved an attempted assassination of the Emperor.
The plot failed partly due to the death of Quintus who was the victim of a shipwreck.
Actor Richard LeParmentier, who portrayed Admiral Motti in A New Hope, was informed of our plan to contact you, and heartily endorses our suggestion of the name Quintus.
Isn't it about time (30 years!) that the good Admiral received some respect, given his status in the galaxy far, far away? Whether it's Quintus, Romodi, or whatever, we believe
the character deserves an official first name. Even that Rebel pilot Wedge Antilles was given one way back in 1976. Clearly, Admiral Motti outranked him...and had way more dialog.
We Imp Chicks confess that the good Admiral is a favorite of ours mostly because he was the reason (interpretations as to his motivation may vary) original Star Wars fans
first got a glimpse of Lord Vader's mastery of the Dark Side. Oh, and did we mention Motti survived long enough to confirm that his beloved Death Star was indeed the ultimate power in the universe...at
least as far as the Rebel stronghold of Alderaan was concerned? (For propaganda reasons, we won't go into the details of the Admiral's tragic demise.)
We hope you will indulge our pro-Imperial bias (it's all in fun!) by seriously considering our request.
Sincerely,
The Imperial Chicks
